VW and Audi Big Gear Knob PDF Manual


For cars with a gear Threaded button (start Audi, VW, Seat ca 2005) follow the instructions in Section 2 For cars with a slotted gearknob (circa 2005) follow the instructions in section 8 1. If mounting on an Audi TT, first using a T20 screwdriver, undo all 8 of the T20 screws around the gear. Other cars with a screw on gearknob, go to point 2 Lift the ring road to the rubber under

2. Screw the gearknob And removing the rubber gaitor and aluminum spacer (if applicable) from the gear stick.
3. Push the old aluminum spacer from the top of the rubber gaitor and press the new adapter into the Forge-gaitor under expose as many threads as possible.
4. Replace the shifter rod magnets and press down until the distance between the top of the shifter rod and the top of the adapter is about Forge. 28mm (Note: Depending on how many threads you know how to push the gaitor, this dimension may be somewhat lower or higher, but this is a good starting point), then tighten the grub screws to the adapter to the gear stick.
5. Replace the trim ring around the gaitor and screw the new button as far as that goes. The top of the gear stick should be just below the top of the notch in the top of the button.
6. Add the shift pattern to cover the top button, to ensure that its targeted correctly.
7. Installation is complete, enjoy your new purchase!
8. For cars with a slotted gear knob (late Audi / Seat / VW), unclip the gaitor by pulling to the rear and releasing the locating lugs on the front, then pull it as high as you can.
