Volvo 850 1995 Turbo System Component Tests PDF Manual

Before testing separate components or systems that perform procedures in F – BASIC testing – TURBO article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored elements set trouble code if they malfunction, also see G – Tests W / CODE – TURBO article. NOTE: Testing of individual components are not isolated shorts or opens. Unless otherwise specified in the testing procedure fulfills all voltage tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance. Ohmmeter use to isolate the beam electrical wiring shorts or opens.

Induction AIR SYSTEMS Turbochargers
Preliminary checks 1) Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn off the engine. If the turbine shaft rotating does not stop soon after the engine stopped, remove the intake hose from the compressor housing. 2) Check the compressor wheel spins freely. Ensure that the blower wheel does not grind to a compressor housing when the wheel is pushed axially or radially.

Basic adjustment pressure regulator Push Rod 1) Remove the locking clip from the end of the push rod. Contact Manometer (999-5230) and a pressure tester (999-5496) to pressure regulator. See Fig. 1. Increase pressure for 1.7-1.9 Psi (.12 -. 13 kilograms / cm). Press wastegate lever against the turbine housing, closing wastegate valve. 2) Adjust the push rod length, so push rod is inserted just above the wastegate valve lever. Install the locking clip, and tighten the lock nut push rod. Remove gauge and tester.
