Toyota Corolla CE 2009 Technical Specification PDF Manual

The redesigned, tenth-generation Corolla arrives with a new platform, a choice of two new engines, a reworked suspension, and more. A few centimetres wider but otherwise unchanged in dimensions, the new Corolla is 100 kg to 170 kg heavier, depending on the version. The Corolla is offered in CE, LE, Sport and XRS trim levels.

Interior and trunk The easily accessed front seats prove comfortable, in part because of their high seatback (that unfortunately does not have adjustable lumbar support). The driving position is good, but for short distances with the manual transmission since there is no room for the driver’s left foot. The driver’s seat does not slide back far enough for a very tall person. Headroom is relatively generous.

Rear entry and exit are hampered by narrow door openings and a lack of room between the B-pillar and seat cushion. The seat is comfortable for two adults. As in the Honda Civic, the floor in the Corolla is flat. Folding the 60/40 split seatback reveals an opening that is rather small.

Trunk capacity is good but would be better were it not for the two metallic boxes that cover the cables for the seatback release tabs. The trunk opening is average in size.

Convenience and safety The cabin is very well put together and fitted out in good materials, including a fair amount of hard plastics. There is some wind and road noise but at an acceptable level for a car of this price. The several good storage spaces include a two-compartment glove box.

Instruments and controls are well laid out. Few controls are illuminated at night, nor is the glove box. The climate control and audio system knobs are relatively large and easy to use. Climate control is efficient. The click of the turn signals is barely audible.
