Pontiac Firebird 2001 PDF Owners Manual Book
Air bags are designed to work only in moderate to severe crashes where the front of your vehicle hits something. They are not designed to inflate at all turns, rear, side or low speed frontal collisions. And, for unrestrained occupants, air bags may be less protection in frontal impact airbags stronger than in the past. Everyone in your vehicle should wear a safety belt properly – whether an air bag for that person.
You can seriously wounded or slain in an accident when not wearing a seat belt – even if you have airbags. Wearing your seat belt during a crash helps reduce your chance of hitting things in the vehicle or be ejected from. Airbags are “complementary agreements” to the seat belts. All airbags are designed to work with seat belts, but not replaced.
