Petrol Engine Twin Camshaft Setting Tool Set PDF Engine Manual


Engine Configuration Synchronization in all current Ford 16V, dual overhead cam engine (Zetec / Duratec) requires that the tools included in VS1152.V2 Set. Furthermore, replacement of the timing belt requires the crankshaft pulley to be removed and therefore associated VS1013 or VS4736 tools are needed, depending on engine type. CAMSHAFT ADJUSTING PLATE – VS115/01
1. In all current Ford 16v. Twin Cam engine (Zetec / Duratec) VS115/01 Setting Plate is used to lock the camshafts into position synchronization through a slot in the back of the camshafts.

2. To replace timing belt on these applications, it is important to ensure that the crankshaft is at TDC (see VS115/02 and VS115/03), and Plate Setup VS115/01 is in the position of the camshafts. The tensor can be loosened / tablet and the timing belt removed.
3. Setting Plate VS115/01 also used in the last Duratec HE double camshaft drive chain.
4. With the locking plate fixation in the position of the camshafts, cam sprockets may loosen, using a tool of exploitation to the fight against the crown while holding the center bolt release. Some camshafts provide a hexagon to locate a key to fighting to keep the camshaft.
5. Using the appropriate PIN Location ensure the crankshaft is at TDC before installing new belt in the opposite direction clockwise. The tension should be applied following the manufacturer’s procedure. Using a suitable tool Sprocket celebration, keep fighting the cogs of the camshaft, while tightening the center screw.

6. Remove the fixing plate and TDC PIN.
7. Turn the motor of less than two revolutions and re-insert the pin location TDC position. Recheck the crankshaft position, ensuring that VS115/01 plate configuration can be easily inserted into their slots. If not, recheck the tightening procedure again.
NOTE: For the Fiesta / Escort 1.6i/1.8iy Mondeo 1.6/1.8/2.0 (-98) 16v. engines, only Cam Setting Plate VS115/01 used. A crank pin entry point is not provided.

CRANK TDC LOCATION PINS – VS115/02 & VS115/03
1. TDC Location Pins are used in combination with Cam Setting Plate VS115/01 to ensure the correct date is established and maintained during engine timing applications as follows: VS115/02 – Fiesta / Fusion 1.25/1.4/1.6, Focus 1.4/1.6, Puma 1.4/1.6/1.7 16v, Mondeo 1.8/2.0 (string) and Mazda 121 1.25 16v. VS115/03 – Focus 1.8/2.0 (98-02), Mondeo 1.6/1.8/2.0, Cougar 2.0 16v.
