Lexus does very well competing against BMW, Mercedes and Cadillac. They make superb cars and SUVs that make many BCMS members happy. Heck, they make me happy—I’m a BCMS member who owns a Lexus LX 570 and love it. Why should Lexus get out of their comfort zone and mess with Ferrari? You see my point, it doesn’t make any sense. But maybe Lexus LFA had gotten too comfortable, too risk averse. 1. Follow workshop manual instructions to get rid of the camshaft cover and also the timing belt cover.
2. Turn the Ford Mondeo engine (within the normal direction of rotation) before the timing mark about the injection pump sprocket lines track of the cast carry about the timing cover.
3. Take away the threaded plug in the cylinder block (between your alternator and also the injection pump) and screw within the T.D.C. Setting Pin. Gradually turn the crankshaft clockwise, until contact is made from the setting pin, to place No.1 cylinder at Top Dead Center.

8. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt towards the specified torque, and take away the Securing Plate and T.D.C. Setting Pin. Turn engine over two times manually to accomplish a complete cycle. Re-gain T.D.C. Position and re-check alignment by placing the securing plate using the T.D.C. setting pin in position (see above). If required repeat steps 6 & 7 before proceeding. Take away the securing plate and T.D.C. pin before turning the Ford engine over two times manually to accomplish a complete cycle to make sure that there’s no obstruction.
9. Replace the threaded connect the cylinder block and follow workshop manual instructions to refit the camshaft cover and also the timing belt covers, etc. Read more...
