Nissan X-Trail PDF Manual
A shift has been made. A shift away from the compact 4WDs built just for city life, and too soft to handle the rugged outdoors. The all new Nissan X-TRAIL is the real deal. We’ve taken over 50 years of 4X4 innovation and packed it into a rugged, spacious and sporty compact 4WD. Roofracks optional extra Page 3 The new Nissan X-Trail offers a new level of performance with two new engine options. The 2.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine has been refined for improved performance and efficiency.
The adoption of chain driven twin counter rotating balance shafts and Continuous Valve Timing Control (CVTC) results in lower noise and vibrations. The aluminium blocks ladder frame construction, as well as the use of low friction materials, ensures maximum efficiency and a long engine life. The 2.0 L common rail Turbo Diesel engine combines high output and good economy with class-leading refinement. Innovative acoustic engineering, featuring state of the art sandwich panel technology, ensures engine noise and vibration is kept to a minimum. In fact you would never know you were driving a diesel in the traditional sense, its that quiet. Both engines offer excellent low to mid range torque as well as power to spare at the high end. X-Trail is equally capable off-road as it is on the open highway. This torque level is also beneficial when towing, and with X-Trail you enjoy a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 2,000kg.
What about Performance? This is where the all new award winning Nissan X-Trail really excels. The 2.5 litre petrol engine now delivers maximum power of 125kW and maximum torque of 226Nm. Similarly the new 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel produces 110kW of power but adds a massive 320Nm of torque. The 3 new transmissions also boast some impressive improvements. The new 6-speed manual is 30% quieter than the previous model and offers improved performance. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic gearbox, found on petrol models, is a computer controlled step-less transmission. It provides a virtually limitless number of gear ratios for smoother acceleration. No changes, just one continuous transmission of power to the drive wheels.
You may also be surprised to know that this CVT automatic transmission is remarkably fuel efficient; in fact it is even more efficient than its 6-speed manual equivalent. The diesel models feature a traditional 6-speed automatic gearbox designed especially to cater for the huge amount of torque these engines produce. This clean burning diesel engine boasts even greater fuel efficiency than its petrol counterparts. Cleverly designed diesel particulate filters ensure these high performing engines produce very low emissions and more than meet increasingly strict emission control standards. However, should you feel the need for a more sporty drive, both automatic transmissions feature a 6-speed manual mode which places you back in charge of the gear changes at the touch of the gear lever.
