Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 2.4 Litre PDF Manual


The compact all-wheel drive (AWD) market has enjoyed particularly healthy sales in recent times with a series of new offers and very good to compete for a share of sales. One of the latest is an all-new car called the Outlander, Mitsubishi intends to market as an “adventure traveler”. While going to replace the Io, which is currently under implementation by the way, the Outlander is a larger vehicle that provides more interior space.

Outlander was launched in Japan in mid 2001 and is entirely new to the Australian market in 2003. At first glance, the front of the Outlander is not the attribute most aesthetically pleasing, but it is distinctive. The front design is called to be a familiar sight as a feature of other vehicles of the Mitsubishi family. From all angles, the Outlander is comfortable style with a very modern look.

The Outlander is a constant AWD wagon that uses a viscous coupling unit to distribute the four-wheel drive. Under normal driving conditions torque is split evenly front to rear, but when the system detects slip in any wheel, the center differential automatically controls torque distribution.

While the Outlander is new, the injection 2.4-liter single overhead cam four cylinder engine which powers are carried over from the Mitsubishi Nimbus. The engine develops a peak power of 100 kW at 5000 rpm and maximum torque figure of 205 Nm at 2500 rpm.
