Mazda Accessory Genuine iPod Connection Adaptor PDF User Instruction


Thank you for purchasing a genuine Mazda accessory. Before use, be sure to thoroughly read these instructions. Please read the contents of this booklet in order to properly use the iPod connection adapter. Your safety depends on it. After using this instruction manual, store it in a place where it can be easily located.

Various warnings and cautions are displayed in this manual to assist you in the safe and correct use of the product and as precautions against you or others being injured, or the product being damaged. Depending on the degree of possible injury or damage that may be incurred, precautionary
items have been divided into ‘Warnings’ and ‘Cautions’ and illustrated with symbols to depict the nature of the precautionary content.

The adapter is provided for connection of an iPod (with a Dock connector) to a genuine Mazda audio system. The iPod can be operated from a genuine Mazda audio system in the same way as an externally connected CD changer. iPod models (software) which can be connected and used with the audio system are as follows:
• iPod (Video) software Ver. 1.0 or higher
• iPod (Color display) software Ver 1.0 or higher
• iPod nano software Ver. 1.1 or higher
• iPod Mini software Ver. 1.2 or higher
• iPod (Quickwheel) software Ver. 3.1 or higher
• iPod (Dock connector) software Ver 2.3 or higher
The audio system does not support iPod shuffle.

After playing the iPod while disconnected from the audio system and then reconnecting it to the audio system, playback begins from the start of the same ‘Music Menu / List / Song number of the iPod that was previously played. (Excluding the first time it is connected to the audio system)
If the iPod is disconnected during playback and then reconnected without operating the iPod, the playback resumes from the song being played prior to disconnecting it from the audio system.If the iPod is disconnected and the song content in the iPod is reorganized and then the
iPod is reconnected, or there is playback from a different iPod, one of the following will occur:
• Playback begins from the start of the same number (music menu/list /song) of the iPod previously played.
• Playback begins from the start of (Artist/List 1/Song 1).
If the audio source is changed while the iPod is being played (CD, cassette, MD, AM/FM), or the power to the audio unit or the ACC is turned off,
the song that was originally being played is temporarily stopped. When the mode is switched back to iPod mode, the playback is restored.
