** Remove paper cover time. Turn the engine stalled at the start of the cylinder # 1 so that the marks at the time the original crank and cam gears are directly aligned with each other, ie the mark on the pinion shaft will be at 12 hours (up) and the mark on the cam sprocket will be at 6 o’clock (down).
** Remove sprockets and chain.
** Install desired closed set offset hub. Selection Set provides 0-Gray, 2-Gold, 4-Copper, 6-silver, 8-Black, camshaft Degree Options.
** Installing the cam and crank gears.
** Closed cam bolts with washers to factory specifications of 21 ft / lbs.
** Bend locking plate tabs on locking bolt heads of the screws on the cam.
** Install the camshaft thrust bearing assembly.
** CAMSHAFT thrust bearing cover test compatibility endplay camshaft on the trip back, max, clearance putty on the front instead of the camshaft thrust bearing assembly. Install timing cover with seal. Hand tighten cover screws. Remove cover and check the caulk.
** Grind camshaft thrust bearing face to provide the necessary .005 “-. 010″ clearance endplay.
** Install bone lazy dog Assembly as in Figure 1.

Notes: Power Idler (large gear) must be installed on the left side as shown (when faced with motor). Arts Crankshaft require Power Idler (large gear) in the mesh closely with the team of the camshaft, as the crank rotates clockwise. Reverse Idler (small team) must have a free vertical movement of .005 “- .075″ pinion when the unit is in the solid mesh with cam and crank gears. Gear damage will occur due to excessive friction if Reverse Idler (small gear) does not have sufficient operating clearance.
