Ford Mustang Ultrasonic Parking Assist System PDF Installation Manual

Before installation, familiarize your-own with the instructions for installation and ultrasonic parking assist system. To ensure your safety:
A) Make sure the vehicle is in “PARK”.
B) Request for emergency brake.
C) Read this manual before starting.

CAUTION: It is appropriate to disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes before the start of installation to avoid unintended airbag deployment. Note and record Anti-theft radio code before disconnecting.

STEP 1: VEHICLE PREPARATION
1. Lift the trunk. Remove the back door scuff panel and pull back luggage matt. (Figure1). The issue of personal side-lining of the trunk. Remove cover for the tire rubber strap.

STEP 2: SENSOR LOCATION
1. If you are using a Mylar template, aligned with the surface of the bumper. Make sure that the template is the center of the bumper horizontally. Use the torso or the back latch bar as a reference for the centerpoint and the use of arrows and lines printed on the template as a guide. Secure the template to bumper with masking tape.
2. U (4) sensor applications, to measure the width of the bumper and mark the place on the 1 / 8 and 3 / 8 at a distance from each end, as shown in figure 2 U (2) Sensor applications, instead of one sensor on a 1 / 4 distance from each end. The ideal location will be 18 “-22″ from the ground. Mark the holes in the template on the bumper. With 22 mm or 7 / 8 “hole-saw, drill holes on four marked points. Hold drill a constant level so that the holes are drilled perpendicular to the surface of the bumper. Use for deburring drill carefully remove any plastic in the holes (Fig. 3).
