Ford and Chrysler Powerline for Standard PDF Owners Manual

POWERLINE Solid State Multi-Battery Isolator is a product of extensive heat engineering and testing chamber. POWERLINE isolators are designed to handle the total current capacity through either of the legs. All powerline insulators negative ground (in some models of positive land available), multi-battery systems. . Contact the factory if product needs positive ground or if the system requires a special model.

CAUTION:
Note insulator must equal or exceed the number of amps alternator. Before starting the installation of insulation, engine start and run at idle speed. Measure the voltage at the battery terminal should be around 14 volts. After installation, redial above to confirm the same voltage. SEVERAL PEOPLE AND SOME SPECIAL ALTERNATORS requires the adoption of ISOLATOR MODELS for its proper functioning, eg Delco CS series alternators require an isolator 33-14 or 33-25. Some of Motorola, Bosch alternators and the like require an insulator with a detection terminal regulator. To ensure proper battery charging, some internal regulated alternators and all that one wire alternators may require a change of external voltage wiring to provide for detection of the voltage regulator.

Before starting the installation of insulation, engine start and run at idle speed. Measure the voltage at the battery terminal. It is about 14 volts. After installation, recheck above to confirm the same voltage.
1. Disconnect ground / negative battery cable.
2. Mount Insulator in a place away from heat up the engine and in a location that will allow the bushing to receive maximum air flow.
3. Remove all cables connected to the original post of the alternator output. Move these wires in the # 1 spot on the battery isolator, using the original factory alternator. If you are upgrading to a higher output alternator, the original tape, wire original alternator output. Refer to letter size cable and install a new cable increased production of the system battery to the # 1 of the isolator.
4. Installing new cables because the alternator output at point “H” of the isolator. Make a new minimum # 8 gauge wire or refer to size chart for proper wire size based on the rating of the alternator.
5. Connect the auxiliary battery to send the # 2 auxiliary battery isolator. Head to the wire size chart for proper wire size.
6. If the circuit breaker to use, would be installed next to the auxiliary battery.
