Dodge Cummins ATS Co-Pilot Module PDF Installation Manual
Currently, the use of exhaust brakes cause high temperatures in automatic transmission with torque converter slip. And only a small part of the retarding force is transmitted through a hydraulic torque converter clutch majority. Co-Pilot was developed to provide lock-up capability in all gears. NOTE: The transfer Dodge ATS Valve Body must be installed on the recovery 1 and 2 degree of lock-up capability. The factory computer is programmed to disengage lock-up under many conditions that prevent the transmission of power.
ATS Co-Pilot module using lock-up clutch torque converter with motor brake, if equipped, engaged. This allows up to 100% of the downside of power to be transferred to the 3rd and 4 equipment and transmission oil temperatures remain low because little to no slippage occurs when the converter is in the selected device. When installed ATS Valve Body, you can use engine braking in low-speed position of nearly 12 kilometers per hour in 1st or 2 degree.
Some of these conditions:
- Lock-up download at full speed
- Lock-up withdrawal in a closed gas
- Delayed lock-up commitment in acceleration from stops
- Delayed lock-up involvement in the desired engine temperature is reached
- Lock-up download a high-performance
The factory has programmed the stock computer with these elements in order to minimize stress on the torque converter works. ATS Co-Pilot module allows the driver to have manual control and a torque converter disconnect clutch.
Variable control panel on the front ATS Co-Pilot Module allows the driver to select the display and the speed with which the torque converter clutch engage and disengage. When the round button on the left side of Co-Pilot face depressed and blue light is off, Co-Pilot is prohibited. This will allow the factory PCM (Power Train Control Module) to operate a vehicle as in stock form. OFF position is indicated by no light is illuminated on the face of the box. To activate the unit, press the round button (Button ATS) on the left side of his face, as one of the blue light shining on your face, light also indicates the level of Co-Pilot was set at the last off.
This will mean Co-Pilot is looking for speed. Minimum speed Co-Pilot will involve moving about 12 mph. The minimum speed of around 12 mph is selected by pressing the arrow buttons on the display. This causes the Co-Pilot to send a signal to transfer (and exhaust brake if equipped) to the lock-up torque converter to the minimum speed limit. If the up arrow, press and lock-up rate will increase by around 5 mph. If the down arrow, press and lock-up speed is reduced by about 5 mph. One of the blue light on the right side of the display to indicate the driver selected set speed. When the blue light is the full right to lock-up speed is set, indicating a maximum speed of around 55 mph. Note: Race TCC used a signal from the factory PCM pass through Co-Pilot, where the factory PCM signal is commanded (on) the Co-Pilot is sending lock-up signal.
