The Malibu was redesigned in 2008. Several improvements appear for 2009, the most important being the availability of 6-speed automatic transmission with the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine for all but the LS version. Traction control and stability control are now standard on all models. This sedan is offered in LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ and Hybrid trims.

Interior and trunk Because the edge of the roof is low, access is difficult, especially for tall people. The doors open very wide and are not easy to close when you are seated.
