Chevrolet Camaro 2001 Engine Performance PDF Manual


Before any adjustments to the vehicle fuel or ignition systems to ensure engine mechanical condition is good. Caution: If the battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability may occur until the computer systems are to be completed relearn the time. See Computer relearn procedure article in general information before disconnecting the battery.

Idle mixture controlled by powertrain control module (PCM). Transformation is not possible. When the replacement of Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, the system must be, I cycled to identify the PCM to control the idle speed. If the idle speed is not all right when cycling the system the problem is usually caused by dirty gas lever plate or vacuum leaks. Ensure that all vacuum components are working correctly.

Idling speed (4-cylinder)
1.9L (SC1, sC2, SL, SL1, SL2 & SW2) Start the engine and run until normal temperature is reached. Slowly vary the engine speed between idle and 3500 RPM 3 times. PCM to control the idle speed.
2.2L (L100, L 200 & LW200)
Turn the ignition with the engine off for 10 seconds. Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds. Start the engine and without the use of 30 seconds. Slowly vary the engine speed between idle and 3500 RPM 5 times. Return to the engine at idle. PCM to control the idle speed. 2.2L (Cavalier & Sunfire) & 2.4L (Alero, Cavalier, Grand Am & Sunfire)

NOTE: Information on bi-fuel Cavalier is not available. Turn the ignition with the engine off. Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds. Start the engine and at idle. PCM to control the idle speed
