These days, every day is an off-road adventure. Even a trip to pick up the kids can sometimes be as treacherous as taking on a mountain pass. And long road trips can turn out to be as demanding as slippery dirt tracks. At Toyota, we’ve spent more than 50 years researching, testing, building and improving 4WDs and never in all that time have the demands of the on-road driver so closely matched those who want to explore the wild country. Both want greater control in tough conditions. Both desire outstanding levels of power and towing strength. And both want to get there safely and comfortably, every time.

The armour process has been integrated after the base vehicle production, without changing the exterior appearance. The armour is engineered in such a way that all gaps between the main body of the vehicles and the doors are overlapped and fitted with to prevent foreign projectiles or splinters from entering the passenger compartment. All armouring materials utilised have been ballistically tested by independent European authorities. Test reports cans be presented upon request. However complete protection is not possible for reasons of design and modern weapon technology. All opaque areas including the roof are protected against soft core projectiles fired with the following and all lesser weapons at 90° and 45° (roof) impact angle in accordance with the CEN.
