After many autographs signed and photographs snapped, legendary Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni has completed the tour that introduced his namesake car to customers and media around the world. Automobili Lamborghini first introduced the Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni in the United States in August, and Balboni has since visited 12 Lamborghini dealerships around the U.S. to personally unveil the special edition model in each city. The last leg of his tour included dealership events in Sarasota, Miami, Palm Beach, Washington, D.C. and Manhattan, where VIP guests and media viewed the new model and met the legend in person.
The engine hood made of glass laminate with open ventilation slits offers a glimpse of the beating heart of the twelve cylinders of the super car. The glass also features the marked arrow angle that characterises the design from the front to the rear spoiler. The Lamborghini designers’ love for detail is beautifully illustrated by the fuel tank lid: a small mechanical work of art, achieved by milling a solid aluminium block.
Lamborghini with the Reventon and Aston Martin with the One-77 have introduced a new genre in the automotive sector – the MegaCar. While Bugatti can rightly lay claim to being the top of the heap in SuperCar sector and still king in the performance stakes it unbelievably does not possess the same over-the-top extremeness of the Reventon. The twenty owners may experience more incredulity from the kids for their Reventon if one was to be parked beside a Bugatti, and if their father grew up watching Star Wars, Batman and Top Gun – probably from them too.
The Lamborghini supercar Gallardo LP560-4 is shown during Seoul Auto Salon 2009, which is powered by 5204cc DOHC engine with 560 horsepower. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 km / h.
