Tools needed

1. Flat head screwdriver or 8mm socket
2. Rotary saw with cutoff wheel (dremel)
3. Wire cutters
4. 30-45 min
Read the instructions completely through before beginning the installation, this includes the FAQ section. The GTO/Holden vehicle has a 3/4 inch variation from left to right and front to back and the engine is twisted in the frame. We have made adjustments in the kit to allow for just about any combination. If you run into something different during your install , don’t panic, our R&D department has over 20 different combinations, just call us direct at 713-477-8100 and we will get you set up with what you need. If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of this installation, simply allow a qualified installation technician to do the install for you

BEGINNING THE INSTALLATION
Remove your factory air box or existing cold air system. Remove front facial cover by lifting the plastic push clips Mark a “HORIZONTAL” line across the backside of the shroud 3/4 inch “BELOW” the top of the radiator line. This removes the small tabs that stick out at the back in one cut.
Next Release shroud from tabs and lift approximately 2-3 inches to allow for a safe cut. You can place a piece of wood or something under the shrouds upper cover to hold it up and away from the radiator. We used a short 2×4 but anything will do. (You may want to place a towel in the engine compartment to keep it clean during the cutting process) Using your cutoff wheel cut across the shroud. Once completed slide shroud back down into lock tabs, your cut line should be 3/4 inches below the top of the radiator

INSTALLING THE VR SYSTEM
(NOTE) there are many clearance cuts in the VR tray assembly, we have done this to allow for vehicle variation and the many different applications from aftermarket intake manifolds to superchargers etc…Start by placing the tray onto the radiator, notice the heat pad that is pre attached under the tray. There are no brackets in this kit, the tray is a stressed member that is locked in place by the filter and MAF connection and the hood when it is closed. (Refer to front overview picture if needed) Using supplied hose (1) 3.5×1 inch for slip-fit and (1) 4.0X2.5 inch angle cut hose with PCV already fitted. Slide the angle cut hose over mouth of throttle body, with the straight side towards the motor and
the PCV line pointing at the 11 o’clock position as shown. Tighten onto throttle body using supplied hose clamp. (NOTE- check the transition inside from the hose ID to the ID of the throttlebody to ensure a smooth transition, you may slide the hose clamp forward if needed about 1/4 inch or so to ensure a good transition.) (There were multitude of variations on the 6 GTO’s we used for R&D, this combination is used on a stock vehicle with a stock intake manifold etc…)

Counter sink MAF “INTO” the VR filter assembly , simply bottom this out, we precut this to set the desired depth. Use supplied hose clamp and tighten completely. Now place the (1) 1×3.5 hose “OVER” the backside of the MAF. This is a slip fit hose to bring the back of the MAF up to 4.0” O.D. (NOTICE The filter is offset , this allows you to flip the filter by simply rotating it 180 deg. We do this because your throttle body sits at an angle of 8-10deg pointing upward. This just allows you to further compensate for vehicle variation to square everything up in the engine compartment. We like a clean factory racer look,so we have designed in lots of variation

Installation Instructions
Warning: This product should be installed by an expert mechanic.
1. Your new baffle will have aluminum particles and residue on it from fabrication. Before installation, wash
your new baffle with water and dish soap. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a lint-free towel.
2. Follow the instructions in your vehicle’s factory service manual to remove your oil pan.
3. Remove the two nuts near the oil filter pedestal and the two bolts at the front of the pan, indicated by the arrows in the image below.

4. The two studs near the oil filter pedestal have o-rings on them. Remove these o-rings then remove the crossover pipes by sliding them towards the inside of the pan as indicated in the image below. Set the pipes aside.

5. Unbolt the stock oil pan baffle by removing the 7 bolts that secure it to the pan. You will re-use these bolts.
6. At this point, you may want to clean your oil pan to remove oil residue and buildup.
7. Secure your new baffle to the pan with the 7 bolts you removed earlier. In some instances, pieces of aluminum casting on the bottom of the pan can prevent the trap doors from moving freely. If this occurs, smooth out the bottom of the pan with medium-grit sandpaper until the trap doors move freely. If necessary, also remove a small amount of material from the bottom of the trap doors. Make absolutely sure that the trap doors move freely. Failure to do so can result in improper operation and damage to your engine.
8. At this point, you may want to replace your oil pan gasket and pickup tube o-ring with new ones. This step is optional, but recommended.
9. Reinstall the crossover pipes, taking care to reinstall the gaskets and o-rings properly 10. Follow the instructions in your vehicle’s factory service manual to reinstall your oil pan.
11. Refill your engine with oil to the factory-recommended level.
12. Congratulations! You can now benefit from improved oil control. Be sure to follow the recommendations listed below when tracking your vehicle. Remember: never let the oil level drop below the “full” mark while tracking your vehicle!

Use and Precautions – Important!
This product is designed to provide superior protection against oil starvation and slosh over the stock oil pan baffle. The sources of oil starvation can be varied and this product will not protect your engine from damage in all circumstances. Please follow these recommendations when using this product:
• When tracking your vehicle, always top off oil levels between sessions. Do not allow the level to drop below the full mark.
• If you rev your engine up to 500 RPM higher than stock: Keep pan overfilled by at least ½ quart.
• If you rev your engine more than 500 RPM higher than stock: We highly recommend installing an oil accumulator in addition to the Holden LS1 Road Race Baffle. If not using an accumulator, overfill by at least 1 quart.
• If your vehicle is a highly modified, dedicated race car or regularly pulls 1.2 G’s or higher on turns: At the very minimum, install an oil accumulator in addition to the Holden LS1 Road Race Baffle and overfill by 1 quart. A dry sump system should be strongly considered…

Holden’s popular Barina range has been revised and upgraded recently to ensure it remains competitive in the hotly contested light vehicle segment. The Holden Barina has been on sale in Australia since 1994 and at that time the market was a very different place to what it is now. Since the introduction of the SB Barina in 1994, new manufacturers such as Kia, Daewoo, Proton and some of the established manufacturers that didn’t have a vehicle in the small or light car class have entered the class. Vehicles that don’t receive regular facelifts, specification changes or pricing re-alignments soon become yesterday’s choice. The Holden Barina range consists of three models, the Barina SXi, a three door hatch available in either a manual, which starts at $15,990, or automatic, which is an additional $2,000 across the range. Next up is the Barina CD [tested], five door hatch, which starts at $17,990 for the manual version.

The third variant is the sporty Barina SRi which has a more powerful 1.8 litre engine. The Barina SRi is priced at $22,490. FEATURES AND EQUIPTMENT The Barina CD manual tested has a new, redesigned 1.4 litre engine fitted. The engine produces 66kW at 5,600 rpm and 125Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The kilowatt output figure is the same as the previous 1.4 litre version, torque has increased slightly by 5Nm but importantly Holden claims that the redesigned engine delivers benefits in fuel economy. This has been achieved by changing the internal bore and stroke, designing a variable intake control system, and making the exhaust gas recirculation system more efficient. The new engine, called the Twin Port 1.4 is only available in the SXi and CD Barina’s with manual transmission. For a mid specification vehicle the features list is extensive. At the last major upgrade the Barina range received 15 inch alloys, front power windows, heated electric external mirrors, and three separate headrests for the rear seat occupants. The rear seat is now a 60/40 split design, giving owners more options when carrying loads of different shapes and sizes. In addition to the driver and passenger airbags, front seat belts have been fitted with brake force limiters, pre tensioners and sash height adjusters.

The pedal assembly is designed to break away in the event of a severe frontal collision. Four wheel disc brakes are standard, no ABS is offered. Power steering is standard that is electrically operated, and is speed sensitive, using the electric motor only when required. Suspension is an evolution of the original Barina setup, Macpherson front struts, gas shock absorbers, front anti rollbar and the rear torsion beam trailing arm design have been retuned to improve handling characteristics. Externally, changes to the grille, and door handles that are now colour coded, and inserts into the front and rear bumpers to protect against minor scrapes are the major distinguishing features over the previous model which was last upgraded in early 2003. ON THE ROAD The seating position has a good range of adjustments for a vehicle in this price range. The steering wheel is adjustable [for rake only], and the driver’s seat has a lumbar support adjustment. The driver’s seat offers a good degree of comfort and drivers of all shapes and sizes would be able to find a reasonable driving position.

Rear seat space is more restricted, taller passengers may not have enough headroom. All major controls are accessible, the instrument panel easily read, and having audio controls on the steering wheel makes changing functions a breeze. Around town the Barina was easy to drive and operate. The engine felt as though it was somewhat breathless until the engine revs climbed up towards the maximum torque point. Saying that, the Barina had no trouble keeping up with traffic, the transmission ratios were well matched to the engines characteristics. Out on the open road the sensation the Barina was a little breathless was not so apparent. Overtaking manoeuvres required a little more planning, and as with the city drive cycle, provided you used the transmission to keep the engine revs up, the Barina travelled along well. Fuel consumption for the Twin Port Barina recorded were better overall than the last Barina tested in March 2001. The ride quality was forgiving, the driver was well insulated from any harsh bumps and potholes. The handling characteristics were well balanced, in part due to the good quality low profile tyres fitted as standard. Brakes whilst driving performed satisfactorily, the lack of ABS was highlighted when testing at the track by huge plumes of smoke from all four tyres on the initial stop, we were expecting an ABS system to come into play.

Step 1 Unhooking from tow vehicle Press the system power button and wait for light LED lights to stop going in circles. Now you can extend both front jacks together by pressing (front) button, or you can run them individually by pressing the (left) or (right) button. Do this until you can pull tow vehicle out from under the coach.

Step 2 Leveling the coach in Automatic mode Check to make sure the front of the coach is setting higher that the rear, then press the (Auto)
button. At this point the coach will drop in the front to start the leveling process, this should take 2 to 3 minutes. Once the coach is level there will be a green Bigfoot light lit up solid on your panel. Turn the system off

Step 3 Retracting and hooking to tow vehicle The first thing we do is to retract the rear jacks, we do this by pressing the (rear) button and the (retract) buttons at the same time until the pumps shut off. Once the rear jacks are up we may need to lift the coach up in the front to get high enough to hook to the truck, To do this press the (Front) button until height is achieved, back truck into position, then press (Front) and (Retract) buttons at the same time to lower the unit onto the truck. Once connected to the truck fully retract jacks to fully retracted position and turn power off.

Leaving cylinders extended for long periods of time This is a very common question, Our product is designed to be extended for long periods of time, leaving your jacks down while in storage is fine. When you go to use them again you will want to inspect each cylinder to make sure there is no dirt, rocks, or debris on the cylinder or foot. This is a good time to spray each cylinder with 100% silicone spray to help the cylinder seals, they will be very dry after sitting in the extended positions for long periods of time.

Extreme conditions (very hot, salty, high winds, or dirt In these extreme conditions you should follow the same procedure as leaving them exposed for a long period of time. In these conditions the cylinders take the brunt of these conditions and more care should be taken to ensure no damage is done.

Holden continues to build on the popularity of its Astra range with the recent addition of two sports-oriented models; the Convertible and the SRi three-door hatch. At $44,990 (manual) and $46,840 (automatic), the Convertible is easily the most expensive model in the Astra range, however
convertibles are inevitably more expensive to manufacture and it does come with an impressive array of standard equipment.

The Astra Convertible is cheaper than Cabriolets such as the Volkswagen Golf and Peugeot 306, and competitive with 2-seater sports cars such as the MGF, Toyota MR2 and Mazda MX5. The Astra SRi is considerably cheaper than the Convertible, at $28,485 for the manual and $30,335 for the auto. Competitors for the SRi include the Mazda Astina SP20, the Ford Laser SR2, the Renault Clio Sport, the Peugeot 206 GTi and the Proton Satria GTi.

FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT:
The Convertible and the SRi are the only models in the Astra range to get a 2.2 litre engine and that ensures that their performance is stronger than other Astra models. The SRi and the Convertible also get improved handling through the adoption of Lotus-tuned ‘sports’ suspension, 16 inch alloy wheels and lower profile tyres. Traction control is standard on both models and the Convertible gets ESP as well. ESP stands for electronic stability program and the system monitors individual wheel speeds and then applies braking or regulates engine output to deal with critical situations such as wheel slip. Powerful braking in these models comes from the Bosch 4-sensor, 4-channel anti-lock system and the larger diameter brake discs that are fitted front and rear.

In addition to items already mentioned, standard equipment in the Astra Convertible includes driver, front passenger and front side airbags, active head restraints, rear rollover hoops/cum head restraints, reinforced A pillars and breakaway pedals. Air conditioning is included, along with cruise control, sports front seats, full leather trim, alloy wheels, power (and heated) exterior mirrors and power windows, and remote central locking with an immobiliser. There’s a Blaupunkt stereo system with a single CD player and remote controls on the leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel. The SRi shares much of the Convertible’s equipment but misses out on its side airbags, its electronic stability program (ESP), its full leather trim, its heated front seats and its trip computer.

Thank you for buying a Trow & Holden Co. pneumatic stone carving hammer. As inventors of the first pneumatic carving tool in 1890, we have had many years to perfect these tools and to expand our range of sizes to suit the needs of all our customers Whether you’re working in small blocks of alabaster or large blocks of granite, if you feel the tool you have received is not a comfortable size for you, we wil1 gladly exchange it for another. You may have noticed that your Trow & Holden pneumatic toot has a number on it.

That is a distinct serial number and with it we have registered the tool in your name. Unique details of each batch of tools are kept on file, so if your tool ever needs repair, we can determine its exact specifications before beginning work. Each tool is guaranteed for life against breakage or defect. Because this tool has only one movable part, it is difficult to wear it out. We know of tools that are nearly 100 years old that are still in use. You made a great investment when you bought a Trow & Holden pneumatic tool!

BREAKING IN YOUR TOOL
We made your Trow & Holden pneumatic tool to very precise specifications. The piston fits the cylinder with a .0002” tolerance (2/10ths of 1/1000th an inch!) so that your tool will perform consistently and not wear out for a very long time For that reason, it may take 100 or more hours of use before your tool achieves its maximum power level. We believe this slight reduction in power during early use will not significantly effect the tool’s efficiency, but if it presents a problem, please call us to discuss your needs. If and when your piston ever wears 0ut enough to need replacement, you will know by the excessive air leakage around the nose end. Please send in the whole tool so we can replace the nose bushing at the same time, thereby duplicating the fit and performance of a new tool. Replacement of the piston and nose bushing due to normal wear are not covered by warranty.

SAFETY
A common-sense approach to safety should be maintained while using any Trow & Holden stoneworking tool. To protect yourself from flying stone chips, always wear safety glasses whether you are using hand or power tools. These are available from us for $10.00, or any hardware store carries them. The best type are those that completely cover your eyes. You may find that you are generating more stone dust with your pneumatic hammer. We suggest that you either install a dust collection system or wear a respirator. Because pneumatic hammers make noise, we recommend that you wear earplugs while using your tool. Wrist supports may help prevent wrist strain and shock-absorbing gloves may increase your comfort whether you are using hand or pneumatic hammers. Strain and fatigue lead to accidents, so equipment that helps prevent these two conditions will improve safety. Don’t forget that taking breaks and changing hand positions frequently while working will also help prevent fatigue.
