The optimum time to determine the engine oil level is all about 5 minutes following a fully warmed engine is turn off. Don’t check oil level before beginning the engine after it’s sitting overnight. Checking Chrysler engine oil level once the engine is cold provides you with an incorrect reading through.

Checking the oil as the Chrysler vehicle is on level ground, will enhance the precision from the oil level blood pressure measurements. Keep up with the oil level between your MIN and MAX markings about the dipstick. Adding one quart of oil once the reading through reaches the MIN mark can lead to a MAX reading through on these engines. Overfilling the crankcase as shown by an oil level over the “MAX” mark about the engine oil dipstick may cause oil oygenation, be responsible for lack of oil pressure and a rise in oil temperature. This may damage your engine.

Change Engine Oil. Road conditions as well as your type of driving affects the interval where your oil ought to be transformed. Check the list below to determine if any affect you. • Day and evening temps are below 32°F (0°C). • Stop and go driving. • Extensive engine idling. • Driving in dusty conditions. • Short outings of under 10 miles (16 km). • A lot more than 50% of the driving reaches sustained high speeds throughout warm weather, above 90°F (32°C). • Trailer towing. • Taxi, Police, or delivery service (commercial service). • Off-road or desert operation.

One of those technologies is deceleration fuel cutoff (DFCO). While the vehicle is decelerating or slowing down, fuel is automatically shut off to the Cruze’s advanced Ecotec engine. When the driver accelerates, the fuel automatically begins flowing again and the vehicle accelerates as the driver commands. It’s a seamless process that the driver and passengers don’t notice.

This is an effective technology that helps keep money in a customer’s pocket when at the pump. The Cruze is packed with fuel-saving technologies, the development systems manager for the Cruze’s 1.4-litre turbocharged engine. These types of cost-effective technologies allow Chevrolet to offer customers a vehicle that achieves hybrid-like efficiency without the cost of the hybrid technology

How it works: DFCO is enabled when the driver’s foot is off the accelerator pedal and the vehicle is coasting. Through integration of engine and transmission controls, the engine speed is carefully controlled under these deceleration conditions. Fuel automatically begins flowing back to the engine when the driver accelerates or when the engine speed approaches idle conditions.

This technology is on Cruze models with both automatic and manual transmissions. Cruze Eco with the standard six-speed manual transmission remains the most fuel-efficient gas-powered/non-hybrid vehicle in North America, with a rating of 4.6L/100km on the highway.

Chevrolet celebrates its centennial as a global automotive brand with annual sales of about 4.25 million vehicles in more than 140 countries. From today’s Cruze Eco which consumes just 4.6 L/100 km on the highway to the Volt coming this fall, which provides up to 80 kilometres of electric, gasoline-free driving and an additional 500 kilometres of extended range, Chevrolet offers gas-friendly to gas-free solutions. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient, safe and reliable vehicles that deliver high quality, expressive design, spirited Chevrolet performance and value. The Chevrolet portfolio includes award-winning passenger cars and crossovers such as Cruze, Malibu, Equinox and Traverse and a host of new, smaller, highly efficient models to come including the all-new Orlando and Sonic (fall 2011) and Spark (2012). Chevrolet also provides iconic performance cars such as Corvette and Camaro as well as dependable, long-lasting pickups and SUVs such as Silverado and Suburban. Most new Chevrolet models offer OnStar safety, security and convenience technologies including OnStar Hands-Free Calling, Automatic Crash Response and Stolen Vehicle Slowdown.

SET INITIAL TIMING
1. Refer to Figure 1. Insert the plug (15) on the wire harness (18) into the socket (16) on the top of the Compu-Tronix distributor. The plug will only go into the socket one way. DO NOT connect the plug (23) to the coil pack at this time. With the ignition switch off, the gear shift in neutral and the emergency brake set, rotate the engine until the timing mark is about 10º BTDC. It does not matter whether #1 cylinder or #4 cylinder is on the compression stroke.

Connect the red wire (22) to the ignition switch wire. (It is up to the installer to locate the ignition switch wire). If the original system had points, the ignition switch wire was connected to the plus (+) terminal of the ignition coil. If a CD system is installed, the ignition switch wire will have to be located. Turn the ignition switch on.

2. The LED static timing light (21), in the top of the Compu-Tronix Distributor may be on or off.

3. For clockwise rotating distributors: If the LED is off, slowly rotate the distributor counterclockwise until the LED just turns on. This is the point at which #1 cylinder will fire. If the LED is initially on, rotate the distributor clockwise until the LED turns off. The distributor may need to be rotated up to 120º for the LED t turn off. Then slowly rotate the distributor counterclockwise until the LED just turns back on. This is the point at which #1 cylinder will fire. Tighten the set screw. TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF. The timing is now set with 10° initial advance

4. For counter clockwise rotating distributors: If the LED is off, slowly rotate the distributor clockwise until the LED just turns on. This is the point at which #1 cylinder will fire. If the LED is initially on, rotate the distributor counterclockwise until the LED turns off. The distributor may need to be rotated up to 120º for the LED to turn off. Then slowly rotate the distributor counterclockwise until the LED just turns back on. This is the point at which #1 cylinder will fire. Tighten the set screw. TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF. The timing is now set with 10° initial advance

INSTALL THE COIL PACK. Compu-Tronix offers two different coil pack mounting brackets that greatly simplify mounting the coil pack. If an optional Compu-Tronix coil pack mount has not been purchased, use the included clear plastic mounting template and the mounting hole dimensions shown and mount the coil pack in the coolest location practical in the engine compartment. It may be necessary to fabricate an intermediate mounting plate. Make sure the coil is solidly mounted and free from any excessive vibration. The coil pack should be oriented such that the coil connector is towards the distributor.

If using the optional Compu-Tronix fan shroud coil mount bracket, simply put it in place of the factory coil mount. Orientate the bracket so the longer straight part is vertical and the shorter bend part attaches to the fan shroud. Secure the bracket using the original hardware that held on the factory coil mount. The six spark plug wires supplied are of unequal length. Determine which wire will be used for each cylinder before cutting any wires to length to avoid coming up short on any wires. The cylinder designations, for the connection of the spark plug wires to the Coil Pack (1), are shown in Figure 1. The cylinder designations are also molded into the coil pack housing at the base of the respective high voltage tower. Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs and coil pack. The best procedure is to install one wire completely from the spark plug to the coil pack. Then go onto the next wire. Make sure all wires are fully seated on the spark plugs and coil pack terminals.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp. This indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If it comes on at any other time, it indicates one of the engine’s emissions control systems may have a problem. For complete information, refer to the Civic Sedan owner’s manual.

This indicator will also come on if there is a problem in the fuel system. If this happens, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Honda Civic GX dealer as soon as possible. Drive moderately until the dealer has inspected the problem. Avoid full-throttle acceleration and driving at high speed. If you smell natural gas or hear a hissing sound, except when refueling, the fuel system may have a leak. Follow the instructions under If the Fuel System Has a Leak on page 28 of this supplement. This indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. It also comes on as a reminder that you must refuel soon. The approximate driving distance remaining when this indicator comes on is: City driving – 20-25 miles Highway driving – 25-30 miles

As the temperature of the outside air cools, the temperature inside the tank begins to drop, and the pressure inside the tank drops too. This means that when the outside air gets very cold [below 25°F (-4°C)], the pressure of the natural gas inside the tank goes down, and the fuel gauge may indicate that you have less fuel than what actually remains in the tank. Keep this in mind if the low fuel indicator comes on while you are driving in cold weather.

If this indicator starts blinking and the fuel level reading goes down to empty when the engine is running, it indicates a problem in the fuel system. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized Honda Civic GX dealer as soon as possible.

The Austin Metro was first introduced in October 1980 and was initially only on sale to the UK market, export sales to the European market following in early 1981. The 998 cc and 1275 cc engines are fitted, with low compression and economy versions available. The body is of computer-based design and is assembled and welded by computer-controlled robots. The “A-Plus” engine and gearbox assembly is similar to that fitted to the Mini range, although it is much improved, with durability and economy prime considerations. Drive is through the front wheels and the engine/gearbox unit is fitted transversely across the front of the car.

The most significant design characteristics are bolt-on front wings, self-cleaning distributor contact points, fully closed crankcase ventilation system, front-mounted aluminium radiator, dual circuit braking system, and Hydragas suspension. Instrumentation is comprehensive and includes a seat belt warning lamp, brake pad wear warning lamp, and handbrake warning lamp. Later additions to the range include a luxurious Vanden Plas version, sporty MG and MG Turbo versions, and 1.0 and 1.3 Vans. The range from 1985 includes 5-door as well as 3-door versions.

The aim of this manual is to help you get the best from your car. It can do so in several ways. It can help you decide what work must bedone (even should you choose to get it done by a garage), provide information on routine maintenance and servicing and give a logical course of action and diagnosis when random faults occur. However, it is hoped that you will use the manual by tackling the work yourself. On simpler jobs it may even be quicker than booking the car into a garage and going there twice to leave and collect it. Perhaps most important, a lot of money can be saved by avoiding the costs the garage must charge to cover its labour and overheads. The manual has drawings and descriptions to show the function of the various components so that their layout can be understood. Then the tasks are described and photographed in a step-by-step sequence so that even a novice can do the work.

First and foremost, the 508 unveils Peugeot’s new design philosophy. Its strong visual identity is instantly recognisable and suggests power, refinement and technology. The designers have paid particular attention to the front of the car, creating a slick, feline look with bi-xenon directional head lights* coupled with LED based day-time running lights for a unique stylistic signature. At the rear, distinctive light clusters give the car great presence at night. The sculptured profile is beautifully refined and enhanced further by the contour of glass surfaces outlined in brushed chrome*.

The style of the new 508 is shaped by the quest to combine the perfect size with the optimum balance: blending both of these elements to create a “hand carved” look of elegance, fluidity and quality. On the SW, comfort is increased further by the enormous panoramic glass roof* which bathes the occupants in natural light, and accentuates the fluidity of the car.

Dynamic and poised styling, combined with Peugeot’s engine expertise and technological innovation, positions the new 508 range at the head of the field in its segment. With optimal aerodynamics, environmental considerations were central to the 508 project from the outset. In terms of engines, the new 508 offers wide choice and a power range from 112 to 204 bhp. With CO2 emissions from 115 g/km to 154 g/km the new 508 delivers excellent fuel consumption, low CO2 emissions and first rate performance and driving pleasure.
