Spacers Wheel Spacers Wheel spacers can provide extra clearance to the outer face of the caliper. This will also space out the entire wheel, widening the track width of the vehicle. Fender clearances should be checked on lowered cars, and longer lug studs or wheel bolts are usually required.
Truck Preparation
1. Check part quantities using the Parts List on Page 2.
2. Block vehicle wheels. Some vehicles may require you to raise the rear of the truck in order to make it easier to drill for installing the mounting brackets on the truck frame.
3. Remove the spare tire and tailgate.
4. You may wish to remove the wheels to give yourself greater working room.
5. Remove the bolts that attach the receiver hitch support bracket to the frame on 2004-2005 model year trucks.
NOTE: On 2006-2008 models, the receiver hitch support bracket is welded to the frame. For this reason, we have included four rear mounting bracket nut plates {Q} to aid installation.

KEY FEATURES
The emergency response procedures for the Ford Escape Hybrid and Mariner Hybrid vehicles are similar to those for traditional gasoline-powered vehicles with the addition of special considerations for the high-voltage electric system components. The Ford Escape Hybrid or Mariner Hybrid vehicles use a conventional gasoline engine in addition to an electric motor to power the vehicle. The energy used to power the vehicle comes from gasoline (used by the internal combustion engine) and electricity (used by the electric motor).
• Gasoline is stored in a traditional fuel tank.
• Electricity is stored in a high-voltage battery pack.
These tools are designed to remove and install front wheel drive front wheel bearings. It is not necessary to remove the knuckle assembly from the vehicle, and, as a result, front wheel alignment is not altered.
Vehicle Setup
1. Raise the vehicle until all weight is off the front wheels, and they hang freely.
2. Remove the following components:
• front tires
• axle nut
• outer tie rod nut and tie rod
• disc brake caliper – use a wire (or OTC No. 7661 caliper hanger set) to hold caliper out of the way and prevent damage to brake hose
• brake rotor
• loosen the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle assembly
3. Lubricate the forcing screw in the tool set.
Using the HubTamer (item numbers refer to the parts list on page 1)
1. Prepare the vehicle by removing the components listed above in Vehicle Setup.
2. Separate the lower ball joint from the spindle assembly.
3. Mount a hub puller (OTC No. 7208A; not included) on the vehicle hub assembly as shown in Figure 1. Apply force to the forcing screw until the axle can be removed as shown in Figure 2. Use wire to tie the axle out of the way; do not let it hang free.
4. Determine which of the four sleeves (Items 26-29) fits the application. The sleeve should push against the hub, but slide through the bearing.
5. Assemble the HubTamer as shown in Figure 3.
6. Slide the HubTamer yoke (No. 5) over the hub in the area where the brake caliper was removed. Verify the yoke will be pushing on the knuckle casting, NOT on the dust shield.

We have developed this engine to over 300BHP using this head. 180 CFM at 10″ pressure on inlet and a 34.4% improvement in exhaust flow. Predicted power is 283 BHP at 8300 rpm and with the right mods can give 300BHP. It gives a good solid improvement in torque through the rev range. This head is a race winner and will make a real difference to your racing performance and results.
You can install the turn signal kit yourself If:
1. you have the right tools,
2. you have a reasonable mechanical and electrical aptitude or experience,
3. you have the knowledge or diagrams of where wiring, fuel lines, etc. are located in the vehicle,
4. and you read and follow the instructions very carefully.
BATTERY
Do not lay tools or equipment on the battery. Accidentally grounding the “HOT” battery terminal can shock or burn you and damage wiring, the battery or your tools and testers. Be careful of contact with battery acid. It can burn holes in your clothing and burn your skin or eyes. When operating any test instrument from an auxiliary battery, connect a jumper wire between the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery and ground on the vehicle under test. When working in a garage or other enclosed area, auxiliary battery should be located at least 18 inches above the floor to minimize the possibility of igniting gasoline vapors
1.6 Diesel Engine – 4 Cylinder 1608cc OHC
1. Follow workshop manual instructions to remove the camshaft cover and the timing belt cover.
2. Turn the engine (in the normal direction of rotation) until the timing mark on the injection pump sprocket lines up with the cast lug on the timing cover.
3. Remove the threaded plug from the cylinder block (between the alternator and the injection pump) and screw in the T.D.C. Setting Pin. Slowly turn the crankshaft clockwise, until contact is made with the setting pin, to put No.1 cylinder at Top Dead Centre.
4. Insert the Locking Plate into the groove in the tail of the camshaft with the larger semi-circle facing upwards. If required, pack each side of the plate with equal thickness feeler gauges to obtain a tight fit and the correct camshaft alignment.
5. Slacken the camshaft sprocket bolt (DO NOT REMOVE). If the timing belt is to be re-used, mark the direction of rotation with chalk to ensure correct re-fitting. Slacken the timing belt tensioner and remove the timing belt.
6. Check that the crankshaft has been turned clockwise against the setting pin and that the Locking Plate is correctly positioned (as in 4 above). Fit the timing belt (in the correct direction of rotation). Fasten the *Torx belt tensioner bolt finger tight.
7. Ensure that the camshaft sprocket can turn on its taper, and turn the tensioner anticlockwise to obtain the correct tension (REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL). Tighten the *Torx belt tensioner retaining bolt.
8. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt to the specified torque, and remove the Locking Plate and T.D.C. Setting Pin. Turn engine over twice by hand to complete a full cycle. Re-gain T.D.C. Position and re-check alignment by inserting the locking plate with the T.D.C. setting pin in place (see above). If necessary repeat steps 6 & 7 before proceeding. Remove the locking plate and T.D.C. pin before turning the engine over twice by hand to complete a full cycle to ensure that there is no obstruction.
9. Replace the threaded plug in the cylinder block and follow workshop manual instructions to refit the camshaft cover and the timing belt covers, etc.
