The 2002 Chevy truck with a 5.3L engine developed an intermittent miss or stumble condition. Numerous ignition, fuel and computer related components had been replaced to no avail. Acting on advice from a third party, the owner had the crankshaft sensor replaced. The person either didn’t know, or failed to tell the truck owner how to properly install the sensor. They would soon find out the procedure involved more than bolting the component to the engine. Later, it would be determined that if the proper learn procedure had been performed, the engine would have performed perfectly.
Rear brake proportioning valve bracket installation;
1. To begin installation, block the front and rear tires of the Chevy so that the vehicle is stable and can’t roll forwards or backwards.
2. Remove the stock brake proportioning valve from the stock rear brake proportioning valve bracket and save the stock hardware for later re-installation.
3. Locate the new rear brake proportioning valve bracket. Also, locate the stock hardware that was removed in step # 2. Install the new rear brake proportioning valve bracket to the stock rear brake proportioning valve bracket and secure using the stock hardware. Make sure to use thread locker or lock tite and torque to 18 ft lbs.
4. Locate (2) new 3/8” x 1” bolts, (4) 5/16” USS flat washers and (2) 3/8” unitorque nuts. Install the stock rear brake proportioning valve to the newly installed rear brake portioning valve bracket and secure using the new 3/8” x 1” bolts and hardware. Make sure to use thread locker or lock
tite and torque to 18 ft lbs.
5. Remove the blocks from under the front and rear tires. Check and double check to make sure that all steps where performed properly.

1. Pull the top edge of the main glass as far forward as practical. It may make a clicking sound as it moves – this is normal. (See Figure 1a) Using a flashlight, locate the vertical rectangular slot on the vehicle side of the main glass opening. It will be alongside a hex-head screw and another rectangular slot – horizontal. (See Figure 1b)
