Fiat have re-introduced two of its most famous subsidiaries to each other and the result is both exciting and …. fun. Carlo Abarth and Enzo Ferrari had collaborated previously back in 1953 with the spectacularly styled Ferrari 166/53 Abarth, a car styled like to other with its large centre headlight and bolt on body panels.
The Grande Punto Abarth is fitted with an engine of 1.4 liters of petrol Turbo T-Jet 3 155 hp (gasoline with 98 octane). The engine has 4 cylinders and 16 valves, 1368 cm supercharged turbo IHI fixed geometry, which offers 155 hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque 206 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Activating the sport mode “power boost”, the maximum torque is 230 Nm at 3,000 rpm (10% more) and the electric power steering assistance in amending the driving sports.
The launch of the Grande Punto Abarth is a tribute to the army of little Fiats from days gone by, that were given a tough, dynamic and sporty edge by the “magic hands” at Abarth: scorpions with a real sting in the tail, igniting the passion of thousands of drivers with a taste for challenge, speed, and Italian flair.
