BMW E39 Accessory Navigation System Speed Input Signal PDF


During installation of the BMW Accessory Navigation System in E39 vehicles, the speed signal input (male connector pin # 3 in the X322) can not be found. Since July of 1999 production, the individual speed signal (Speed-A) output gear is eliminated from mass production. The speed with which information is now available to the connected control modules in the form of a telegram from the body bus (K bus).

The design, navigation system accessory is not able to speed information signal from the K-Bus. When installing the BMW Accessory Navigation System E39 vehicles manufactured after 06/99, the Speed-A signal wire should be placed between the instrument cluster (pin # 3 of the 18-pin connector X10113 for IKE, or pin # 14 of the 26-pin connector for the Kombi X11176) and pin number 3 of the X322 connector (located in the back left corner of the hull). Such change is not covered by the BMW New Car Limited Warranty.

The Speed-A signal from an adapter harness to the wires of the Airbag Repair Cable (P / N 61 12 8 386 368) and the male socket connector P / N 61 13 0 007 452. 1. Cut through the single wire from the airbag Repair Harness, the length of 12 feet from the female connector Siemens.
