Note about features listed: Each Toyota/Lexus/Scion radio type operates differently, so consult the vehicle owners manual for proper operation methods. Headunit Display Capability When the TOY-SC1 is installed, the following information can be displayed on the headunit display
BEFORE INSTALLING THIS PRODUCT:
• Make sure to follow all the vehicle specific instructions carefully or damage to the product can result.
• Make sure that the TBC-1 wire harness does not interfere with any moving parts under the hood. Failure to do so may result in shorts.
• Make sure to follow the vacuum hose connections carefully or serious damage to your engine could result.
• Make sure that you remove the two orange caps and one red cap from the solenoid manifold before installing.
• If your vehicle is not listed in this manual please call our customer service department for specific instructions for your vehicle.
• BEFORE INSTALLING read entire manual and verify that the kit contains all the parts necessary for installation. See the TBC-1 Parts List table in the back of this manual for the list of materials provided in this kit. Disconnect the Negative cable of the battery BEFORE proceeding with installation. Failure to do so may result in severe damage to the unit or the engine.WORLD electronics is NOT responsible for any damages to the
engine, vehicle or TBC-1, caused by an installation error. Installation of this product should only be performed by an experienced installer. Installation requires many skills, please refer installation to a qualified, experienced installer.
1. Disconnect the negative (–) battery terminal.
2. Remove the plastic front seat track covers — Use a screwdriver to disengage the claws and carefully remove the plastic seat track covers.
3. Remove the plastic rear seat track covers — Use the taped screwdriver to disengage the claws and carefully remove the plastic seat track covers.
4. Remove the LH front seat assembly.
A. Move the seatback to the full upright position.
B. Remove the four (4) seat track securing bolts.
C. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the complete seat assembly.
5. Remove the seat track locating pins.
A. With the seat removed from the vehicle, tilt the seat assembly backward to gain access to the seat track locating pins.
B. Use a power cut-off tool (or equivalent) to cut off the two (2) locating pins leaving 2 mm (0.1 in.) or less of each pin.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
This bellhousing is not compatible with transmissions that were previously equipped with diesel engines. The new bellhousing design incorporates the exclusive use of the original Jeep internal hydraulic release bearing assembly. The new bearing will need to be installed on the front of the transmission with the nylon straps in position. DO NOT REMOVE THE NYLON STRAPS PRIOR TO ASSEMBLY. Make sure that the new bearing is positioned over the front of the Peugeot transmission properly. The steel lines will need to be bent so that they exit through the Advance Adapter
bellhousing hole. If the new bearing assembly is not properly fitted to the front of the transmission, the bearing assembly will be angled causing seal failure. On most applications, you will need to grind the necessary clearance on the inside of the bellhousing in order for the bearing to sit in the proper position.
Rebuilding an engine is involved, particular steps must be taken and confidence in the professionalism of your machinist is most important. The first thing is to research the exact cubic inch displacement, year, and type of engine that is in your car. Our technical reference manual will be a great
help to you when rebuilding your engine. Always take photos of the engine and engine compartment. Pay special attention to brackets, accessory head bolts, wire looms, AC hoses, belts and special headed or stud type-mounting bolts. Before starting to remove your engine, cover the fenders, front grill and sheet metal with good fender covers or heavy blankets.
TOOLS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION
- Power Hand Drill
- Hole Saw (1-1/4 inch/32 mm) – For drain hose holes (1 inch for certain models with composite beds – no grommets needed)
- Carpet Knife/Scissors – To cut drain hose sections
- Wrench (Spanner) (9/16 open/ring) – To tighten clamps
- 3/8″ or 10mm Socket – For lid screws
- 1/8″ Drill Bit – For pilot hole for lock block screws
- Screw Driver (Phillips head) – For lock block screws; self-tapping screws for L brackets on Dodge Models/special models
- 7/16” Wrench – For strike plate nuts Note: All screws provided in kit.
- T27 Torx (for Sport Trac models only)
- Tape Measure
- Rust Preventative – For drain hose holes
Clean the camshaft with mineral spirits or equivalent solvent and coat lightly with engine oil. As with all roller camshafts, do not apply moly assembly lube to the cam lobes or roller tappets. We recommend a thin film of our Pt. No. 99008-1 Engine Assembly Lube be applied to the lobes of the cam and bearing journals. A small amount of Pt. No. 99002-1 Moly Assembly Lube should be applied to the distributor gear, cam gear, and ends of the fuel pump pushrod.
TIMING CHAIN AND GEAR KEYWAYS:
The Edelbrock crankshaft sprocket is manufactured with three keyways (except street legal sets #7802, #7809, and #7814).Each keyway is marked with a geometrical symbol indicating a standard straight-up or zero (q or “0”), advanced (v or “A”), or retarded (s or “R”) camshaft position (See Figures 3 through 8, showing each installed position).In many cases, being able to retard or advance a camshaft enables you to be more exact when installing a camshaft for a specific application.Advancing or retarding a camshaft can shift the power range to a lower or higher RPM. Advancing a camshaft will move the torque to a lower RPM, while retarding a camshaft will move the torque to a higher RPM. For persons not familiar with camshaft function, we suggest the standard installation position.
